An Iron Cross First Class 1914 By Unknown/Unusual Maker Hold He entered the Submarine ServiceSilver frame, with iron core, magnetic, maker marked "Y" (unknown) on the underside of the pin, marked "800" (silver) on the reverse, 43. 5 mm, vertical pinback, extremely fine. Footnote: This unknown maker began supplying Iron Crosses in 1917, the "800" silver content only used to manufacture Iron Crosses during the period 1917 1918.(C: 171)
