Germany, Imperial. A Prussian Observer’s Badge, C. 1918 Archive Joseph Butler(Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of silvered brass with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bow tie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, set around a central square enameled applique consisting of a black and white checkered centrepiece within a red border, the reverse with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44. 60 mm (w) x 71.
