Germany, Wehrmacht. A 1939 Iron Cross I Class, Screwback Variant, by Alois Rettenmaier Auction 1953 in Toronto(Eisernes Kreuz 1939 I. Klasse an Schraubscheibe). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1939 1945 issue). Constructed of iron and silver, consisting of a Cross Patte with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six oclock arm with a reinstitution date of 1939, the reverse with a central threaded screw post, with a stabilizer emanating from the twelve oclock arm, marked with LDO code L59
